This was designed by Peter Getz who was commissioned by Robert Morris. The piece is also listed as Baker 23 by collectors of Washingtoniana.

It is unique with a pedigree supposedly going back to 1831 and is ex King, Bossuet, Howard, Dana, Finotti (1862), Bushnell, Parmelee, Jackman, Newcomer, Garrett, Bowers and Ruddy 3/81 Garrett IV, Ford-Stacks 5/04. Others believe the piece to be more modern, ie circa 1860 or so.
