Although described as a regular dies trial piece, these were actually deliberately struck for sale to collectors as part of complete off-metal sets.

2) NERCA 1/81 FUN?, Heritage 11/89, Bourne - PCGS64RB
3) Superior 2/00, Rau-Heritage 4/18 - NGC63BN
One of these is ex Brenner-1914 ANS, Brand.
Nickel J681/P760 with only one or 2 known. One is ex Brenner-1914 ANS exhibit, Brand. This or another is ex Edgar Adams-Elder 4/35 part of lot 1465.
Aluminum J682/P761 with the following 3 or 4 confirmed:
1) Kreisberg 10/78, Bourne - PCGS64 with a spot to the left of the 1 in date
2) Kagins 8/77 ANA, in set, Stacks 11/06, Simpson-Heritage 1/21 FUN - PCGS64
3) Winthrop-B/R 9/75, unknown intermediates, Byers, StacksBowers 1/13, StacksBowers 3/13, StacksBowers 6/13 - PCGS64 with the obverse double struck with a 5-10 degree rotation between strikes. To view the obverse of this piece, click here.
4) NERCA 7/79 ANA in set, later broken up appears to be a 4th.
The Brand collection had 2 of these, one as part of a complete 1869 aluminum proof set and another ex Brenner-1914 ANS purchased in 1919 while another is ex Newcomer.
The Lohr collection had examples of both.
