Pollock quotes Tom Delorey who noted that the obverse design is a regular 17.9mm 3 cent obverse set in a 1 cent size 19.1mm die blank, leaving wide borders whereas the reverse is normal 1 cent size. Examples were struck as follows: Nickel J615/P680 with around 100 sets believed struck. Copper-nickel J615A/P681 with about a half dozen known.
