This pattern combines the Liberty head obverse without star on coronet with the regular without rays reverse first used in 1866 as on J507/P591. For more on the reverse die click here. Because of this, it is very likely that this piece is a Mint product and not one of the 5 cent pieces struck outside the Mint from dies believed to have been in the possession of Joseph J. Mickley.
