Although described as a regular dies trial piece in copper, it is more likely that this was deliberately struck for sale to a collector.

This is a rare off-metal piece which is possibly unique. If it is unique, it is ex A.S. Jenks (Cogan 4/1877), H.P. Smith 4/1887, Brenner-1914 ANS exhibit, Brand (journal #92500:594), Porter-Mehl 6/42, Lohr, RARCOA 2/72, Heritage 1/2002, Bourne - PCGSAU58BN.
