This piece is described as a regular dies trial piece of the 1805 quarter struck in copper and as a later restrike. It was probably made by Montroville Dickeson, in the early 1860s, from dies sold by the mint as scrap. We do not believe it exists but is instead of misdescription of either JC1805-1/P6105 or JC1823-1. If it does exist, the 1805 obverse is probably the same heavily rusted Browning 2 die used on JC1805-1/P6105. The reverse die used is not known today.
