The exact design as J271-J272/P319-P320 here dated 1861. These are struck on eagle diameter planchets as an anti-counterfeiting effort. This design also has a die blunder in that the "V" in "Five" is actually an upside down "A".

Over a dozen are believed known on both thick and thin planchets, several of which have been gilted. This includes 5 in museums, 2 in the Durham Museum ex Parmelee, Byron Reed and 3 in the Connecticut State Library ex Mitchelson. For all available images, click here.

Incomplete reverse die JA1860-4/P3248 and hub JA1860-5/P3251 trials, struck in lead, are also confirmed to exist.
