The Paquet reverse double eagle of combined with the regular obverse of 1860. This pattern was believed struck from the same reverse die used on the 1861-P reverse. It differs slightly from the other hub in the position of the eagles wings relative to the "E"s in "United" and "America". On the 1861-P hub, the wings point to the "E"s whereas on the 1861-S hub, the wings point between the "T and E" and the "E and R". To compare the reverse dies visually, we recommend looking at page 395 of Bowers and Merena's Norweb 3 sale where both the 1861 and 1861-S Paquet coins were offered or by comparing it to the J272A/P321 by clicking on the link below. For additional information on this piece, please refer to the article on the 1861 Paquet dollars in the ANA Centennial Anthology where they mention the possibility that this is a backdated fantasy.
