This is one of 6 Washington nickel patterns produced in 1909, 4 of which, like the present example have Washington's portrait facing to the right. This used to be J1784 in earlier editions.

This one has the word Liberty following the 13 stars.

The reverse is similar to one used in 1896 on J1770-J1772/P1986-P1989 but with the motto "E Pluribus Unum" added.

It is unique with the only example in the Smithsonian.
