The regular dies trial piece in copper. As with most die trials made from the 1860s onward this piece was struck deliberately struck. Only 2 examples are known including the A.M. Smith (Bolender 2/36 lot 24), Bolender 2/52, Vickery, 72 ANA, Wyoming collection and the Farouk, Crouch-Superior 6/77, Superior 1/96 examples. One of these was also offered in Bolender's 4/36 sale.
