George T. Morgan's famous Liberty Head design previously believed to have been modeled after Anna Williams. Research by Robert W. Julian notes that this is actually the first of the 4 Morgan dies of this year. Only a single example is known ex Cogan in 1883, Garrett-JHU, Garrett I, K. Goldman, D. Novoselsky as PCGS64, Kagins, Superior 7/03 as NGC66, Pogue-StacksBowers 3/20 - PCGS65 This design was also struck in copper J1521/P1685 with only 3 or 4 known.
