Although described as regular dies trial pieces, these were actually deliberately struck for sale to collectors as part of complete off-metal sets.

Copper J1432/P1575 which should weigh 15~16 grains with only 3 confirmed all of which have been gilt

1) Ruby-Superior 2/72, Rio Rancho-Superior 10/74, B/R 1/75, B/R 5/76, Stacks 6/90, Simpson-Heritage 5/22 - PCGS64 gilt

2) Crouch-Superior 6/77, Auction 79, Heritage 6/86, Superior 9/88 (as J1433), Superior 10/89 (as J1433), Simpson-Heritage 8/10 ANA - NGC62 gilt with scratch from Liberty's nose to the first S in STATES

3) B/M 6/86, Superior Auction 89, MARCA 9/89, Wilcox, B/M 11/95, Superior 2/00, Montgomery-Heritage 11/23 - NGC proof details cleaned, gilt with scratch through the ribbon on reverse

Note: A non-gilt example was offered as lot 663 in RARCOA's 1/73 sale. If it is not one of the gilt ones above, then there is a 4th example out there.

Aluminum J1433/P1576 which should weigh ~5-6 grains with only 2 confirmed as noted:

1) Kreisberg 11/70, Simpson-Heritage 1/22 FUN - PCGS66

2) NERCA 7/79 ANA?, Heritage 2/08 as PCGS64, Simpson-Heritage 8/10 ANA as NGC64, Berngard-StacksBowers 3/12, Heritage 12/12, Heritage 2/13, Heritage 4/13 - PCGS64 with a scratch on Liberty's neck.

One of these is ex Bolt-Stacks 4/66.
