Although described as regular dies trial pieces, these were deliberately struck for sale to collectors as part of complete off-metal sets. Examples were struck as follows: Copper J1383. This is unlisted in Pollock as being indistinguishable from a bronze example without elemental analysis. An example was displayed by Judson Brenner at the 1914 ANS exhibition and went to Virgil Brand in 1919 as journal #92500:1462 to Armin Brand and was sold 9/1/37. A second was in the Newcomer inventory. An example has been graded PCGS64BN.
