Although these are described as regular die trial pieces in the standard references, it is more likely that these trials were deliberately struck for sale to collectors as part of complete off-metal sets.

1) Paramount 5/69?, Schorer in 2/1972, Bass-B/M 5/99 as PCGS62RB, Heritage 4/18, Heritage 11/18, Heritage 12/18, Heritage 3/19 - NGC63BN with rough patch above S in DOLLARS

2) NERCA 7/79 ANA, Superior 10/89, Legend Auctions 12/22 as NGC64RB - PCGS64RB, illustrated below courtesy of Superior



These were also struck in aluminum J1239/P1381 with only 2 believed to exist as follows:

1) B/R 9/75 described as reverse burnished, NERCA 7/76, Ivy 4/77 - proof 60+ with a spot by Liberty's chin and near the rim above the first A in AMERICA

2) NERCA 7/79 ANA, B/M 9/84, Stacks 9/94, Stacks 10/97, Heritage 1/99 FUN, Heritage 11/03, Simpson-Heritage 2/21 - PCGS65 with corrosion at top of the 2nd T in STATES, illustrated at the top of the page courtesy of Heritage, click on the thumbnail image to enlarge
