The Longacre design of 1870 and 1871 with 22 stars on the flag combined with the Commercial Dollar reverse. This was apparently implemented by William Barber as Longacre died in 1869.
Examples were struck as follows:
Silver with reeded edge J1212/P1352 with over a dozen known. For all available images, click here.
Silver with plain edge J1213/P1353. This probably doesn't exist. It is believed to be a misdescription of J1215/P1356.
Copper J1213A/P1354. It is believed unique and was lot 289 of the 1892 Woodside sale where it was listed as being silverplated !!
