Although these are described as regular die trial pieces in the standard references, it is more likely that the off-metal 'trials' of this year were deliberately struck for sale to collectors.

4) D. Perara in 1974, T.R. Walsh, possibly the same as #2

Aluminum J1027/P1162 with only 2 known including:

1) NERCA 7/79 ANA with tiny planchet flaws by first and sixth star

2) B/M 5/92, Simpson-Heritage 1/21, Heritage 6/21 - PCGS64 with a vertical defect from star 13 towards Liberty's lower curl

Nickel J1028/P1163 which is believed to be unique and is ex Woodin-1914 ANS exhibit, Newcomer, Farouk, Kelly 8/56, later to NERCA 7/79 ANA, Superior 5/90, Simpson-Heritage 9/20 - PCGS64 and is illustrated below.
