This picture compares the two Morgan obverses side by side. The obverse on the left was used to strike J1503-J1507/P1664-P1669 and was actually the earlier die. It shows less hair which doesn’t extend beyond cap edge and there is no initial ‘M’ on Liberty's neck. The first leaf points past the letter ‘R’ and the third leaf touches the letter ‘I’ in Pluribus and there are 118 wide denticles around the rim. The obverse on the right was used to strike J1503,J1504,J1506,J1509/P1656-P1663 only. The hair extends beyond the cap at right and the initial ‘M’ is on Liberty's neck. The first leaf points to left edge of the letter ‘R’ and the third leaf doesn’t touch base of the letter ‘I’ in Pluribus and there are 146 thinner denticles around the rim.
