The Mint continued testing the use of a uniformly designed minor set in nickel using the same 1868 designs for the one cent J666/P741-3, 3 cent J676/P753-5 and 5 cent J684/P763
piece now dated 1869 as illustrated below courtesy of PCGS.

The set of 3 pieces was sold by the Mint to collectors for $9 per Ed Cogan's 1/1871 sale lot 304. Its earliest occurrence was in Mason & Co's 10/1869 J. C. Randall sale.
About 50 sets were struck in nickel. Die varieties exist for the cent and 3 cent. It is unclear if any sets were produced in copper as the 3 cent and 5 cent are possibly unique.
