The following is the central portion of Morgan's famous 1877 half dollar pattern J1512-J1513/P1676-P1677 that has been set on top of an octagonal copper host. It is unclear if this is a machined example of J1513/P1677. It was offered as lot 1472 of Stacks January 2002 sale where it realized $3450 and has since reappeared in Heritage January 2007 FUN sale.
We are calling it P3429 to give people notice of its existence, but, since it is not believed to be a true die trial, it will not likely be placed in appendix A of any future editions of Judd.
