The Barber design. The '8' in the date is over a '1' caused by the date being initially started too far to the right.
Only 4 examples are known as follows:
1) Doughty 4/1891, Reed, OCL-WHM (P260) – ICG64RB with high wire edge on obverse - Illustrated above.
2) Lohr, Cox-Stacks 4/62 ?, Coronet Coin FPL, Champa-B/R 5/72, Bass-HWBRF, B/M 5/99 – PCGS66RB
3) Anderson/Dupont-Stacks 11/54 ?, Merkin 9/67, Fred-B/M 11/95, Saul Teichman - PCGS65RB
4) Farouk-Sothebys 2/54, Judd, Stacks 3/80, Stacks 1/90, Queller-Heritage 1/09 - NGC63BN - cleaned, lacquered
The 66 ANA, Coronet Coin FPL, Champa duplicate is either #4 or #3. Lohr, Cox-Stacks 4/62 may belong to #3 instead of #2. Anderson-Dupont may belong to #2.
This design was also struck in silver J1535/P1703 with only 3 known.
